Happy March!

Last week the New Raymer FFA Chapter celebrated FFA Week and we were blessed with great weather! Our week's activities included a coloring contest, teacher appreciation breakfast, ag. trivia, and barnyard day.

As always, Barnyard Day was the highlight of the week! We had tractors, a combine, truck and a wide variety of animals, including a chicken on a leash!

Many thanks to Guy McEndaffer for bringing over his equipment!

Elementary students were able to climb up in the combine and pet all the farm animals. The goats and horses were fan favorites!

In addition to our traditional events, this year Jim Mertens came in and gave a great presentation about farming. The students enjoyed his presentation and the personal stories he shared with them!

We certainly appreciate Jim sharing his time and knowledge with us.

Overall, FFA Week was a success and many memories were made!

This spring we had 4 students submit an application for their State Degree and we will have one applicant for their American Degree.

Students will be attending a practice CDE contest hosted by Weld Central FFA. In addition, district CDE's will be in April at NJC and the state contest will be the first part of May! Students are preparing for the respective competitions.

The officer team is also hard at work planning the annual banquet and working on our National Chapter Award Application.

In class, students have been working on welding projects including this drink-holder made by Sy Northrup.
