The wonderful first graders are working hard on learning their sight words with play-doh, spelling with blends, and taking time to make sure their handwriting is amazing! Just ask Harry the Hedgehog…he gets to hang out with the first grader that tries their best handwriting throughout the day!! : )

Last night our Jr. High football team suffered their first loss to a very good Otis team. They will be back on the field on Thursday for a 4:00 game with Weldon Valley. The Volleyball teams will also be playing on Thursday starting with the Jr. High "C" team at 3:15 followed by the "B" and "A". There will then be a "mini" (elementary) game before the JV HS match. The last match of the evening will be the Varsity HS. I need a chain crew for the Jr.High football game on Thursday and 1 more line judge for the JV and Varsity HS matches. The freshman class will have concessions and be serving walking tacos for the meal. If you are involved in volunteering for line judge or chain crew, If I have you on the list you are admitted free and may have a meal at the concessions. There has been a change in location for the bonfire on Friday. All activities including the cornhole tournament will be held at the fairgrounds. All times and activities will stay the same (see last email), just the location has changed. Saturday will be the Homecoming football game with a "mini" game first at 12:15. HS game at 1:00 pm I need a chain crew for this game also. The crowning of the King and Queen will happen at half time. The freshman will be doing concessions again and serving cheeseburgers for the meal. We hope that alumni and community members will all come out and support YOUR PRAIRIE MUSTANGS!!!

Good evening, our last outing had our volleyball teams playing Briggsdale.  The Jr. high won 2 of their  three matches (C,B,A).  The "A"  team went down to the wire with them winning the third set 15-13.  The high school did not come away with a match win but the Varsity came out with an exciting  first set win,  later losing the match in 4.  The Jr. High boys football continued to play well and had a big team win over Briggsdale.   Tomorrow, Oct 3, kicks off homecoming week.  Student council has planned many activities for a fun and spirit filled week.  Check out the Website or App's live feed for more details.  The Jr. High boys have a game with Otis tomorrow at 4:00.  There WILL NOT BE A HS JV GAME.   Thursday we will host Weldon Valley for the Volleyball homecoming game and a Jr. high football game.   The pep rally was moved up so we will be able to start the Jr. High "C" game at 3:15 followed by the "B" and then the Jr. High "A" match.  After the Jr. high last game and before the High school start their warm-up, we will have a mini VB game which will feature 2 Prairie elementary teams playing each other.  This will have a 15 min. time limit.  The high school will then play a JV and Varsity match. There is  NO HS "C".   The Jr. High boys football will start at 4:00.   Friday there will be a bonfire in New Raymer behind the elevator.  The evening will start with the Lions hosting and Student Council helping to serve Chili, hotdogs, and cinnamon rolls at 6:00 p.m..  The FFA are running a cornhol tournament with the proceeds to benefit Sherry Picciano also starting at 6:00 p.m.  The bonfire will be lit at 7:00 with the Crew providing a spirit filled agenda which has rumors of including a snake dance and DJ.  Saturday, is the Homecoming football game with Branson/Kim starting at 1:00 p.m.   There will be a mini football game prior to the game featuring 2 elementary flag football teams starting at 12:15 p.m. with them playing one 15 minute period.  Of course the coronation will take place at half time.  The dance will take place at the school; 7:30-11:30 for 8-12  grade students.   We hope that all alumni and community members will join us for these activities and show our school and community spirit!!  BIG BOLD; BLACK AND GOLD!!  GO MUSTANGS
