Happy Birthday to this special lady!
The 3rd graders sure had fun in science finding out what dinosaurs had the same leg length of theirs and then racing them in the gym. It was a fun afternoon of learning! We have lots of fast runners that would give those dinosaurs a good run!

Board meeting Monday, October 19th has been moved to Monday, October 26th.
Update:
Prairie Parents and Community, due to our 4th positive COVID-19 test in the high school, grades 7th-12th will remain in at-home, e-learning through Monday, October 19th. We will resume in person learning on Tuesday, October 20th. Elementary classes will continue to take place in-person at school.
Remote Learning vs E-Learning:
We will be moving from e-learning to remote learning. In remote learning, we will move to a modified block schedule. Please see the attachment below. We have gone through this modified block schedule with students. What the block schedule will do for students is provide only four Zoom times with teachers each day. Teachers will Zoom with students every other day and provide direct instruction for the next 2 days of work. This helps both students and teachers with minimizing technology time and issues with Zoom meetings. We ask that students check Google Classroom as all the details will be posted there for students.
Lunch and Breakfast:
We will be serving lunch and breakfast for students in the remote learning environment. If you would like the school to provided meals for you, please follow these steps:
1. Please call the school by 8:00 am (970-437-5351) of the day you would like a meal. The school will provide lunch and the next day's breakfast for the students.
2. Please be at the school by 11:00 am to pick up the meals.
Sports:
There will not be any junior high football this week. The game on Friday will be postponed.
High School Football is postponed. We are looking at rescheduling this game for Monday, October 19th. More information will come out in the weekly athletic update. Coach Kerns will be in touch with the football boys about the week's plans.
Parent Teacher Conferences:
We will be cancelling the in-person parent-teacher conferences. We ask that parents reach out by email to teachers if they would like an email update or a Zoom meeting for an update about their child's progress. Teachers will be reaching to parents if they feel it is necessary. We hate to not have face-to-face conversations with parents, but at this time we believe this is the best alternative we have.
Junior Parents:
Please see the email below from Coach Kinnision regarding the PSAT for the Juniors. The high school teachers will be waiving assignments on Wednesday because of this assessment.
Juniors,
On this Wednesday 10/14 at 1 PM we WILL give you the option to come to school and take the PSAT. This is optional, not required. There is no makeup date for this test.
Please let me know your decision ASAP by emailing me back.
Should you choose to take the test we will proceed as follows:
You will remain in your car until we ask you to come into the building. You will enter the school through already open doors, not touching anything and head straight to your assigned table in the gym. You will set your calculator and powered down phone and your snack on the table. You can set your sealed water bottle on the floor. You will need to bring 2 or more #2 pencils already sharpened to the school with you. You will not be allowed to go to your locker to get them. Your table will be a safe distance from any other tables and we will ask that you remain socially distant during the time at the school. You will not be required to wear a mask while at your table taking the test. I ask that you wear one while not at your table.
The pre-admin session will begin at 1pm. Test will start at approx 1:30 and you should be dismissed by 4:30.

We are doing our very best to make decisions with the support of the Weld County Health Department that are in the best interest of the district. We know that some information may be unknown to some, and questions may be asked as to "why we do this" or "why we do that". Please assume the best in us and know we are trying our best for our district.
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
